Wednesday, September 14Educational Meeting on Development in Reston

Reston Association is holding a special meeting on Wednesday to update its members on DEVELOPMENT IN RESTON. All Restonians, regardless of association membership, are welcome to attend this valuable educational session. (more detail)
Wednesday - Sept 14- HMD TAC Meeting
The Hunter Mill District Transportation Committee (HMD TAC) will be hosting their quarterly meeting on September 14 at the North County Governmental Center (1801 Cameron Glen Drive). The meeting will begin at 8:00 AM. HMD TAC discusses the transportation issues affecting the Hunter Mill District with various transportation staff and agencies.

Thursday - Sept 15- Hunter Mill Road Study Meeting
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will host a community meeting for the Hunter Mill Road Study onThursday, Sept. 15, 2016, 7 p.m., at Aldrin Elementary School, 11375 Center Harbor Rd., Reston, to discuss the project status and next steps. The community will have the opportunity to hear about the results of the expanded scope of work, to ask questions and provide feedback at the meeting. Thursday - Sept 15 - FY18 Transportation Alternatives Program Meeting
Fairfax County will hold a public meeting on September 15, 2016, to solicit comments on the proposed FY 2018 Transportation Alternative Projects. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Fairfax County Department of Transportation, 4050 Legato Road, Suite 400, Fairfax, VA 22033. At the meeting, county staff will make presentation about the program, followed by a question-and-answer session.
After approval by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, the program’s projects will be eligible for submission to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for funding under the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century, also known as MAP-21.This program provides 80 percent of the funds for each eligible project. A 20 percent local match is required. Any project presented to the board for endorsement must have an identified source of funding for this match.

Monday – September 19 – Reston Planning and Zoning committee meeting
1 - Pulte – Lofts at Reston Station Application number: RZ 2015-HM-005
The Property is located at 1825 Michael Faraday Drive Reston, Virginia near the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station. The property is currently zoned I-4 and is 1.58 acres in area.
The Applicant proposes to rezone the property from I-4 to R-30 to allow for the residential development consisting of townhouses and a multi-family building. The Applicant is also seeking waivers for the minimum District Size and open space requirements.
The application is scheduled for a Planning Commission hearing on September 29, 2016.

2 - Brookfield: Application number: RZ 2016-HM-007
Applicant: One Reston Co. LLC and Two Reston Co. LLC The property is located at 12000 and 12018 Sunrise Valley Drive, in the heart of the Reston Town Center Station Transit-Oriented Development District, immediately south of the future Reston Town Center Metrorail Station in Reston.
The Applicant proposes to develop the 36-acre property with approximately 3.88 million square feet of mixed-use development for a total effective FAR of 2.2, together with five distinct publically-accessible park spaces, a comprehensive pedestrian and open space network and a functional grid of streets.
A Planning Commission public hearing has not yet been scheduled.
