RESTON NETWORK ANALYSIS ADVISORY GROUP MEETING - Monday December 19 @ 7PM @ SLHS Lecture Hall

When: TONIGHT - Monday, Dec. 19, 7 pm
Where: South Lakes High School Lecture Hall

The inner core of Reston is about to join the ranks of areas in Fairfax County that have a Transportation Tax* levied.  The Board of Supervisors is expected to take the recommendation of this RNAG committee and approve a tax in early 2017. If approved, it will take affect in 2018 on all residential and commercial property owners within Reston's Transit Station Areas. With some exceptions such as the Reston Town Center, this means all residential and commercial properties north of Sunrise Valley Drive and south of Sunset Hills Road.

To understand the background before attending tonight's meeting, please watch this presentation by Tom Biesiadny, Director of the Fairfax County Department of Transportation. He presented at the 12/15/2016 RA Board meeting at the request of CEO Cate Fulkerson. His presentation begins at 2:21:  https://youtu.be/MFpMUv6qH34?t=2h20m52s.

The purpose of this tax is to help fund, over the next 40 years, some new streets and the following intersection improvements:
