Are you interested in learning more about the work of RCA's Reston Accessibility Committee? Then visit their booth at the Reston Farmer's Market at Lake Anne. They will be at the Market on Saturday, August 3rd from 8 to 11:30 AM.
As you may know, the Reston Accessibility Committee (RAC) was created by RCA early in 2008 to advocate for barrier-free access for persons with physical disabilities. Over the last four years, RAC has partnered throughout the greater Reston community with the goal of establishing safe and comfortable access to a variety of establishments for customers and residents with mobility impairments.
If you stop by the booth, you'll be able to meet RAC chair Ken Fredgren and other members of the committee. You'll be able to see RAC's 2013 Community Partnership Award and see photographs of some of their most successful projects to help people with disabilities better access public buildings and commercial centers in Reston. You'll be able to ask questions and find out what projects RAC is planning to tackle next. You'll be able to learn about resources available to Restonians with disabilities. And if you like what you hear, you'll be able to become a member of RAC or provide a donation to help them keep up the good work.
So before you load up on farm-fresh tomatoes and artisan bread, stop by RAC's booth on the 3rd and find out more about another way that RCA is helping to improve the lives of Reston's citizens.
